phew~
Woot!!! I’m back!!! Got back to singapore yesterday afternoon, around 1pm++. Unpacked my stuff and went to sleep. Super tired. Haven’t got the pics from my friends yet. Will post the pics soon.
DAY 1 (9th march)
Got back from work at around 7.30am to pack my stuff. I packed till 9am++ when i took a rest before i left home. Had a long journey to the changi airport by bus and i almost fell asleep in the bus. Reached the airport terminal 2 at 10am++ where i was suppose to meet my group members. Went up to find them when i only saw 2 people there waiting for others to come. Took me quite awhile to realise that there is a BK in terminal 2 also. Went to BK and only to find my team waiting for me there. Rushed some work before we went to meet up with the rest. Everyone was shocked to see me carry a rather small haversack. When we met up, i heard from someone that there is a person who actually forgot to bring the passport with him/her and he/she rushed back home. We mingled around for quite abit after we checked in. Guess what’s the weight of my bag? It’s only 6kg+ only. The lightest among everyone. I was thinking why everyone carry so many things there. There are some people with more than 10kg worth of items over, as if that person bring the whole wardrobe there. Took a pic before we enter the gate. The inside of the airport looks so good la. Totally different from the outside of airport (before the gate). Stayed inside there for awhile before we enter the plane. Got onto the plane at around 2pm+. So, off we go! After a few hours of flight (can’t remember if it’s 1hr+ or 2hr+ flight), we reached saigon. We took a 2 minute bus from the plane to the airport. Like wth, 2min also want us to take a bus over. We took our luggage and went to the other side of the airport where the domestic flight planes were. Rotted at the airport till not sure when before we took the plane. Another problem occurred. The sauce that we brought over was confiscated before we entered the plane. Good thing is that they only checked one box of food. We took a bus to the plane and again, it’s only a 2min ride. So, off we went to Hue. Took about 1 and a half hour+- to reach there. Their time is an hour slower than singapore, meaning it’s +7 GMT. Tada! we landed safely at the airport. Alighted the plane and the weather was freezing. It was pretty dark when we reached. Having an empty stomach, we went to a small shop to eat. The food tasted rather weird at first but we got used to it. After dinner, we went to the guest house to settle down and unpack our stuff.
DAY 2 (10th march)
We woke up at don’t know when and had their local food for breakfast. It was french bread with some weird fillings in it. We walked for 30mins to the work-site, a kindergarten to be exact, to have a good view of it.The road is also very scary. It’s totally different from singapore. There, once u start crossing, u cannot head back until u reach the other end. In singapore, u dodge the vehicles. There, the vehicles dodge you. Their speed is like 35km/h max. One more thing i die also must say, and that’s the vehicles overtaking each other. Everytime they want to overtake a vehicle, they will horn once before they overtake. Imagine the place is filled with some cars and many many motorbike. you will feel very irritated by it. After the visit, we went to HUE plaza which is a few mins walk from the guest house. After visiting the plaza to get some stuff, we head back to the quest house. Did i forget to say that the place was flooded with mosquitoes? Just smack your luggage and u can see more than 5 of them flying away. Ok, so we rest abit before we went to have lunch outside. We had noodles for lunch. There’s a choice of beef noodles, pork noodles, chicken noodles or veg noodles. The food there was rather good. After lunch, we went to DONG BA market. It’s a super huge wet market where they sell all sorts of things. From food to clothes. We travelled around and we head back to the quest house for the night. What’s for dinner? I can’t remember. Lol. But one thing i can say is that it’s cooked by us. I forgot to say something. The toilet flushing system is the best. You cannot throw the tissue paper in the toilet bowl or it will get clogged. So, where do they throw the used paper? Into the basket placed beside it.
DAY 3 (11th march)
Woke up with a few mosquito bites and shivering like hell. We had breakfast and it was the french bread again. But this time, the fillings are kaya, nutella and peanut butter. After breakfast, we walked back to the work site and started working. We were split into 2 groups. One group will be in charge of teaching the kids english and stuff. The other grou will be at the backyard digging trenches and removing plants for the wall fence. It was boring at first, pulling out plants and removing obstacles. After all the pulling was done, we placed the piles of plants at one side. We spotted a lizard and a snake running into the pile. We went for a drink before we head back to the guest house for lunch. I tried the vietnam coffee and it was super sweet and nice. The coffee and milk is practically 1:1 ratio. Can’t remember what’s for lunch but it was alright. We went back to work site after lunch and continued to work. This is where the fun begins. We used many digging equipments like spade, pickaxes, hoe and many more to dig the trench. It was hard work but it was very fun! Night falls and it was time to go back for dinner. Oh, the shower part is also very cute. For guys, we had a shower head attached to the pipe for flushing the urinal. The girls is attached to a normal water tap. The weather at night was very cold and we had to shower in cold water. Brrrr~ Had a short debrief before we went to bed. A super thin mattress and not some single bed.
Ok. That’s all for now, i will continue to post tomorrow. Hope i can get the pics by tomorrow. Leave you all in suspense. =)
Btw, I just got back from CGH. Went to visit my grandmother. No videos for this post. Very tired to search for one.
Freaking busy….
First of all, i want to say happy belated ”san ba fu nu jie” day. For those who don’t know what it means, “san ba” actually means something like ‘dumb’.. And it’s meant for ladies only X_X And “san ba” in chinese is 3 and 8. Since it’s 8th march, they decided to call it that. Please correct me if what i said isn’t right.. And also please don’t go around saying “san ba” as it’s more of like scolding someone dumb or something along that line.
Ok.. Just wanna say something. I had been very busy since wendesday.. Went to IT fair and it was crazy.. So many bloody people exchanging their sweat with each other.. Managed to get my external hard disk and also managed to get a canon printer from there. Oh, i forgot to say that i just got back from work and i’m flying off later. Didn’t had a good sleep since friday for i went to work from 7pm to 7am for 2 nights. I think i’m going to be a panda soon.. >.< Just finished packing my stuff. Hope i didn’t forget to bring anything that i’m suppose to..
Alright, got to prepare to leave house soon.. I shall end here for now. Will post again and talk about my very first air flight and my first trip to other country other than malaysia.. Hope i can get the pics from my friend by than.. Bye!
